Lugu is a reading application that allows users to discover, search for, and read books and stories. The App currently provides browsing, book information, reading, saved and continued progress, restarting a book, search, availability alerts, book requests, and content recommendations.

Lugu does not currently provide reviews, ratings, comments, or a social feed.

Lugu is designed to collect only information reasonably necessary to operate, understand, and improve the App.

A — Reading Activity

We may collect information about your reading activity to power features like Continue Reading and save your progress:

• Books you open, start, or continue reading
• Chapters you access and your current reading position
• When you choose to restart a book
• Recently viewed content and other reading interactions

If you select Start Over, your saved reading progress for that book may be reset after you confirm your decision.

B — Search Information

When you search for a book, we may collect and retain your query — including titles or keywords, whether it returned a result, which result you selected, and searches for books not yet on Lugu. We use this to provide and improve search, and to decide which books to add to the platform. Please don't enter personal, sensitive, or confidential information into the search field.

C — Book Requests

Lugu may let you submit a book you'd like added. We store what you submit to understand demand and evaluate additions to the library. Please don't include personal, sensitive, or confidential information in a request.

D — Book Availability Alerts

If a searched book isn't available, you may request an alert for when it is. To deliver this, we may store the associated book or search, your alert preference, a device or notification identifier, and whether the notification was delivered or interacted with. You can disable notifications through your device settings.

E — Device & Technical Information

We may automatically collect device type, operating system, App version, language and general device settings, crash and diagnostic information, basic usage and performance data, and technical identifiers necessary for operation and security.

Book pages may display cover, title, short description, estimated reading time, chapter count, and reading status. This relates to the books available through Lugu and generally does not constitute personal information about you.

We may use information collected through Lugu to operate the App and its features — search, Continue Reading, restarting books, For You, availability alerts — to understand what users want to read, improve our library and search results, diagnose crashes and bugs, improve performance, and protect the App against fraud, misuse, or security threats.

We do not sell your personal information.

The For You section may use your activity within Lugu — books viewed, searched for, started, or read — to determine what's more relevant to you. We may also weigh general popularity and content categories.

We do not use sensitive personal information to personalize reading recommendations.

We may analyze aggregated or de-identified information about how users interact with Lugu — popular books, frequently searched or requested titles, books searched for that aren't yet available, reading engagement, search success rates, feature usage, and general App performance — to understand preferences and improve the App.

Lugu may use third-party providers of cloud hosting, analytics, crash reporting, database infrastructure, and push notifications to help us operate and maintain the App. These providers may process limited information on our behalf, governed by their own privacy policies and contractual obligations with us.

We do not authorize our service providers to sell personal information collected through Lugu on our behalf.

Lugu does not currently use personal information collected through the App for targeted advertising. If we introduce advertising or related tracking in the future, we'll update this policy and provide any notices or choices required by applicable law and platform policies.

We retain information only as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes described here. Search information and book requests may be kept for a reasonable period to understand demand and improve the library. Reading progress may be retained for as long as needed to power Continue Reading, or until deleted or reset. We may retain certain information longer where required to comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, prevent abuse, or enforce our agreements.

We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational measures designed to protect information processed through Lugu. No method of electronic transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

Lugu is not intended for children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we become aware that we've collected such information, we'll take reasonable steps to delete it.

Depending on where you live, applicable privacy laws may give you rights over your personal information, which may include the right to:

• Request access to personal information we maintain about you
• Request correction of inaccurate personal information
• Request deletion of certain personal information
• Obtain information about how your personal information is processed

Some rights may be subject to exceptions under applicable law. Contact us using the details below to submit a privacy-related request.

If you enable notifications, Lugu may send alerts related to features you've requested — like a book becoming available. You can control push permissions through your device settings. Disabling notifications stops push delivery but won't necessarily delete previously collected search or book-request information.

We may update this Privacy Policy as Lugu develops, we introduce new functionality, or legal requirements change. When we do, we'll revise the "Last Updated" date above, and provide additional notice for material changes where required by applicable law.
